What's in my studio at the moment?

Here I'd like to give you a sneak preview of what I'm working on at the moment. These pictures take 30-50 hours each on my easel, but may take weeks or months in the planning.

Having finished the "Rebel Read" portrait (shown in my studio on the right and now featured in the Read Collection page), I'm continuing to work on the series of artwork in partnership with eight times world motorcycling champion, Phil Read. I'm currently looking at a scene from the 1978 IoM TT Formula race, where Read was snapped looking over his shoulder at Hailwood on the Sports Motorcycles Ducati.

Here's the sketched idea:

At the moment it is called just "78TT" - any better ideas?

And below showing results of a few more hours work. I've experimented with the grass (you wouldn't believe how difficult it is to paint grass!) I've also added a bit more definition to Phil's and Ago's helmets.

Here I am in the studio, thinking about it, whilst listening to Classic FM on the radio and considering maybe going outside for a cigarette.

Here's another one that I've been considering for a while. It's called "T120" and is awaiting inspiration for the background.

If you've read about me on the "About" page, you will know that I'm also interested in classic cars.

Here are some pictures of a 1966 Pontiac Bonneville that I used to own.

It had a 6.9 litre V8 engine, a 3-speed Cadillac transmission and steered like the USS Nimitz!
